Wessex Malthouse Direct, which has outlets in Taunton, Minehead and Newton Abbot, has won the national BOSS (British Office and Stationery Suppliers Association) Dealer Excellence Award. The award was presented by Paul Ross, brother of Jonathon, at a high profile ceremony in the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London last week.
This competitive award is made annually to the dealer in each category which has demonstrated the biggest increase in turnover in the past year. Part of the submission is a presentation which has to include ten ‘Unique Selling Propositions’ (USPs) which make them different from their competitors. One of these is the company’s focus on customer service, which, says MD Paul Thresher, who was at the ceremony, is the basis of the company’s success. “It was a great night, and I’m so pleased that the effort everyone is putting in to make this business grow is being recognised on a national stage. It’s a team effort – the managers manage, and the staff who help our customers really work hard to give the best and most efficient service they can – and that shows through in this result.”
Another of Wessex Malthouse’s stated USPs is the fact that “We take our corporate responsibility seriously by helping local charities and clubs.” This has been demonstrated recently by a new preferential design and print arrangement with the Taunton Association of Performing Arts, its sponsorship of the Taunton Westival, and its support for Watchet’s Under 9's football team in the Tony Pryce Youth League through its outlet in Minehead.
